I’m into writing romance, whether it be YA Paranormal [my first self-published novel; my W.I.Ps. of adult Contemporary, YA Urban Fantasy, as well as Flash Fiction. This book is the first book I’ve read for this genre, and although it’s somewhat lengthy at over 500 pages I’ve found it to be quite delightful.

The book’s pacing is quite good as the action of the storyline keeps the reader wanting to read more. Helping to get over the length are the twists which have been perfectly placed which keeps the reader guessing as what is about to happen next. The mix of suspense, action and murder turns out to be a perfect blend of the three.

While some reviewers might point to the editing as a negative, it didn’t come into play as many poorly edited books usually do; which is why I decided it to give it 5 STARS.

I enjoyed this story a lot. I would have given it five stars except that the editing is weak. I saw a lot of typos and a few grammar problems. Normally that turns me off, but the story was good enough to keep me reading anyway. Fix those mistakes and it's a winner!
This is a terrific read. The author has created a unique character and built a story around him. If any criticism is due, it's because he let the min character become "too human", instead of continuing his mysterious ways. I look forward to future stories about Padukshem.
It was very graphic in all areas, but had a good story. You had to chuckle at some of the antics that go on. Recommend it to people that are not uptight regarding violence and sex. Am now reading the sequel.
Mediocre writing, grammar errors, and poor word choice make for a book in need of editing. Early in the book, "vicariously" used to describe how a dead man slumped against a window was the last straw for me. Self-pub should NEVER mean self-edit. Editor, editor, always use an editor.
I don’t have one negative thing to say about this book. It was well written and had my complete attention from the 1st page. I am in great anticipation of the next Dardian Dreshaj novel as the teaser at the end of this book had me on edge. This book definitely deserves to be on the new York best sellers list as #1. Padukshiem is a cold piece of work!!!!

An absolute must read. You will not be disappointed.
What a great read!!! I want a Dardian in my life. Yes he's a contract killer but he loves his mami (mom) and takes care of the love of his life. He kills bad guys never women or children so what's not to love. About to start the second book. I pray it's as good as the first.
I love the world Shelley Young created. The book starts off with action that sucks you in and then doesn't let up from there.

It's also well written and edited, which isn't always the case with books. There's just the right amount of detail to make you feel in the center of what's going on, without distracting you with endless descriptions of things that don't matter. The balance is sophisticated.

I will make it a point to read anything she writes in the future.
