A great sequel to the first book. After escaping the protectorit, Kathy finds herself in the land of nuabi pirates, who are just people trying to survive. Studying under Old Shaw, a Revered Nuabi healer, she finds that the disease all Nuabis are suffering under is more complicated than it seems. Meanwhile, Tammaru is battling with the politics of coming to Nuabi's aid and finding Kathleen. This book delves into the politics and delicate situation of the Edict. It gives us a sense of why Tammaru is the way he is and plenty of action in spaceship battles and undercover intrigue. I definitely recommend and is looking forward to the next book.

This is the second book for the story 'The Protectorit'.

I like reading books with more than one volume in the set.
You can get a sense of the character's feelings, motivations
and it is fun to speculate on what will happen in the next book.

Our Earth Doctor 'Kathleen' has been travelling for some
time. What kind of ship is she on and what makes it travel
so fast? She is a doctor and / or maybe a pirate. Can she
find a cure for the sickness for the Nuabiene.

Who has General 'Tammaru' been working with? Is he working for or
against the govenor from the tenth district? Is there any hope
in finding where Kathy went in his ship.

If your thoughts could be communicated to someone else, without speaking
aloud, how would you feel. Could you stop it or would you want to.

I have enjoyed reading about Kathy, Tammaru and other characters in the
second book, 'For the Honor of Black Roses'.

I hope you will read it too.
I have read a lot of science fiction in the past 36 years and have to say
K.L. Tharp has captured my attention. Her creativity is boundless. I love the
all of the characters. Ive read both books in this series at least four times
and will probably read them again while waiting for the third book.
I love this series and look forward to the continued romance between Tamm and Kathleen. My only complaint is I have to wait so long for the next book, however the wait is worth while.
I really enjoyed this follow up to The Protectorit. While I'm normally a sci-fi romance person, the first book really intrigued me. The world-building is amazing and the characters are lovable, real (well, as real as aliens we haven't met yet can be!), and endearing. I LOVE Widgin! )

But now I want more! I hope there will be a third book! I want to see what happens next! )
I honestly love these books. I want so bad for them to get together and you K.L. Tharp keep me on the edge of my seat PLEASE WRITE THE THIRD BOOK! I was so mad at her for falling for his clone. Had to keep reading to find out what happens. Will be looking out for the rest in the series.
Since I was younger I have been a huge fantasy, sci fi fan. I grew up on Anne MacCaffrey , Piers Anthony and many other authors. I read everything I could get my hands on. K.L. Tharp has now become one of my favorite authors. I devoured her books in just a couple of days and cannot wait for the third book to be published. All of the characters are entertaining in their lives and the reactions to all that is happening around them. One of my favorite characters is Widgen. He is a young frog like character that seems to stumble into situations that even when wrong turn out to be right. He is humorous and endearing and makes you love him from the start. I look forward to seeing more stories written by Kelly Tharp.
I finished this book in a day also.

I wished the MCs would stop keeping secrets from each other - I believe it would of solved and prevented a lot of problems. Loved the development between the MCs and the growth they had apart. I believe Tammaru will become "de-programmized" and hope that they will fall in love soon. <3
