I bought this book as a fan of Rennison's Georgia Nicolson diaries. About three-quarters of the way through, I just couldn't finish it. It doesn't have that same inviting connection to the characters like her other series. While the main character is more likeable, the jokes and gags aren't as gut-busting. I was really hoping to enjoy the series as being similar in humor to her past books, but it came off lacking a lot of depth from the characters.

Another funny read for all ages. I hope we get some college books from Georgia though, I really miss her family and plan on re reading these books.
I adored the Georgia Nicholson series, so I was very excited to see Louise Rennsion had written a new book. I did enjoy Withering Tights, but I definitely noticed a lot of similarities to Rennison's other books. That being said, it's still a very entertaining read )
For established fans of Louise Rennison who were afraid she was away laughing on a fast camel forever, the news that she was writing a new story to fill the Angus-shaped void on our bookshelves was more than welcome. Unfortunately Tallulah is simply not as loveable as her cousin Georgia, and Ms. Rennison's trademark self-deprecating wit and empowered awkwardness feels a bit forced in Wuthering Tights. While there are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, it lacks the genuine feel (or "genuinosity" as Georgia might say) that her first series had. That being said, I'd still recommend it, because the book does not fail to entertain, whether you're already fan or about to become one.
im not a huge fan of the series. I like Tallulah. I think she's a lot nicer, and more sympathetic than Georgia, but that's just it. She's not Georgia. I don't think these books have the heart or the laugh out loud humor those books have. I do love the tree sisters. I wish I had tree sisters or an ace gang.
I love this author and have since I first read her in middle school. I was frustrated that I could never find the paperbacks in America, but it turns out the British covers are way cuter anyway.
I am a huge fan of the Georgia books and have been since I was about 15 or so (I am now 22). I was so sad when the series ended and couldn't wait to see what she had in store for all of her fans. When I came across Withering Tights, I was so excited, I immediately downloaded it to my kindle app. Within the first 5 pages I had already laughed like a loon, and quickly realized I shouldn't be reading these in public or while drinking anything. Tallulah is very much like Georgia, as to be expected since they are cousins. It has everything that the Georgia books had comedy, clever writing, randomness, and of course boys and crazy dancing galore. It absolutely met all of my expectations and I am desperately awaiting A Midsummer Tights Pants this summer.
I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE Georgia Nicolson fan. When that series ended, I was so sad it was over. But when I heard Rennison was writing a new series based on Georgia's cousin Tallulah, I was ecstatic!

You can't really compare Tallulah to Georgia. They are completely different. Tallulah seems much sweeter and a bit shy. She is still pretty funny and hopefully throughout the series she will grow into herself as a character and improve. Definitely setting up some interesting love interests as well. I can't wait to see where the romantic possibilities go!

It does seem like the weird slang is used a bit more here than in the Georgia books, and as an American, I do find myself confused sometimes. But I think it's because of the new setting, it must be some local vernacular? It didn't take much time to get used to it though and it doesn't bother me, I actually enjoy it.

Overall, I highly recommend Withering Tights, esp for Georgia Nicolson fans. Don't be expecting another Georgia though. And for those who haven't checked out that series, you MUST! I'm in my 20s and I love it, so age makes no difference!
